Video - Gravitational waves for noobs!
Those odd gravitational waves finally explained
Gravitational waves are ripples in the curvature of spacetime which propagate as waves. They were theorized in 1916 by Albert Einstein on the basis of his theory of general relativity, and now for the first time physicists have announced the direct observation of the effect of gravitational waves.
In the following very informative video - made simple enough so anyone can understand what the subject is - physicists Umberto Cannella and Daniel Whiteson explain what they are and why they'll cause a big ripple... in spacetime AND in our understanding of the Universe :)
